GENERAL
Q - What is On-line Internet Banking and how much does it cost?
A -
On-line Internet Banking provides access to your Queenstown Bank of Maryland accounts from the convenience of your personal computer. All account inquiries, transfers, e-mail and other bank information services are FREE. Normal bank fees will be assessed for certain transactions, stay tuned for further details. Our optional Bill Payment service lets you pay your bills on-line. No checks, no stamps, no envelopes, and no trips to the post office! The fee for Bill Payment is $9.95 per month for commercial accounts and is free for  personal accounts. Both include unlimited number of bills paid per month.

Q - What types of accounts are accessible in Internet Banking?
A - You can access any of your Queenstown Bank of Maryland  accounts, including: Checking, Savings, Certificates of Deposit, Loans, and IRA’s. Bill Payment services are only accessible from your checking account, and when it becomes available.

Q - What do I need to get started with On-line Internet Banking?
A - You need a checking account at Queenstown Bank of Maryland and you need access to the Internet from home or work. That’s all. Go to the IBS main page and use the enrollment form, we will process the enrollment and send you a letter with your temporary password.  

Q - Can I access my accounts from more than one location? Can I use it at home and at my office or when I am traveling?
A -
Yes. You can access your accounts from anywhere that you have Internet access.

Q - Which browsers are compatible with On-line Banking?
A - Internet Explorer 3.02 or higher. Netscape 3.04 or higher. We recommend that you upgrade to the latest version of Internet Explorer or Netscape.  You will need to download their 128 bit secure version of their browser.

Q - I share a checking account with someone else. Do we both need to enroll or can we share the same Login ID?
A -
Joint owners will receive only one login ID and password. 

Q - Can I download information to my financial management software?
A - Yes, On-line Internet Banking can export to the leading personal finance management software packages available today, including Quicken® and Microsoft Money®. You may even convert your data into a comma delimited ASCII file.

Q - How current is the information?
A -
All account information is current as of the date of our last processing. If teller transactions or electronic transactions, such as Direct Deposit and Social Security payments are received during the day, we will “memo” post them to your account so that you will be able to view them. ATM and POS items will not be memo posted during the day.

Q - Are there times when I will not be able to access my accounts?
A -
The system is available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, except for a few minutes each evening during the day-end process. If you are able to get on the Internet, but unable to reach On-line Banking, try again later. If the problem persists, E-Mail us or call  410-827-8881.


SECURITY
Q - Is On-line Internet banking safe and secure?
A - Yes! It features password-controlled system entry, a VeriSign-issued Digital ID for the bank’s server, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol for data encryption, and a router loaded with a firewall to regulate the inflow and outflow of server traffic.
  • We recommend that you use the 128 Bit secure versions of Internet Explorer and Netscape.
  • You can help safeguard your information and the system by protecting your Login ID and Password. Memorize them and keep them secure.

Q - Are there rules and guidelines concerning Passwords?
A - Yes. You select your password and can change it at any time. Except for the temporary password selected when you enroll, your password will never be known to bank personnel.

    Follow these guidelines:

    • Your password must be 5 - 10 characters in length.
    • You can use any combination of letters, numbers, and hyphens.
    • Your password is case-sensitive; i.e. “A” is not the same as “a”.
    • When changing your password, the new one cannot be the same as the most recent one.
    • You are required to change your password the first time you access On-line Banking.
    • You should not use passwords associated with commonly known personal identification such as social security numbers, your name, names of children or date of birth.
    • Every 90 days the system will require you to change your password. You will not be allowed to use the same one twice in a row.

FUNDS TRANSFERS
Q - What types of accounts can I transfer funds to and from?
A -
You can transfer funds between any of your Queenstown Bank of Maryland checking and savings accounts, as long as account ownership allows. You can also transfer money to a loan, resulting in a loan payment.

Q - I know that I will never transfer money from some of my accounts. Is there some way to keep me from inadvertently transferring from such an account?
A -
Yes, you may designate any of your accounts as “view & deposit only” access and prevent transfers from those accounts. You can still view the accounts and transfer funds to them.

Q - I have an account at another bank. Can I transfer funds to it from my Queenstown Bank of Maryland account?
A -
No, transfers can be made only between your accounts at Queenstown Bank of Maryland.

Q - Are there limits on the number of transfers I can make?
A -
On-line Banking poses no limits on the number of transfers you can make. However, Federal Regulations limit the number of withdrawals and transfers on certain types of savings accounts and money market accounts. If you are unsure about the restrictions on your accounts, check with a customer service representative at 410-827-8881.

Q - When will my transfer take place?
A -
If you initiate the transfer before 3:00 p.m. EST on a business day, the transfer will take place on that day. Otherwise, it will take place the next business day.

Q - I will need to transfer money to my checking account next week for my house payment, but I will be out of town and will not have access to the Internet, what can I do?
A -
You can enter your transfer anytime before you leave town and post-date the transfer to the actual date you want it to occur.



BILL PAYMENT

 

Q - How do I sign up?
A - Personal account holders just need to click on the Bill Pay button, that will take you to the enrollment form, fill that out and click the submit button.
For commercial account holders you would click on the Cash Manager button, then once in there you will click the Bill Payer button. You will get the Bill Payer enrollment form that you fill out and submit.

Q - What is the cost for Bill Payment?
A -
For commercial account holders there is a $9.95 per month fee, for personal accounts it is a free service.

Q - Who can I pay?
A -
You can pay anyone, whether you have an account with them or not.

Q - How will the company be paid?
A -
Most of the payees on the list receive payments electronically. Otherwise, a paper draft is created and mailed to the recipient. The draft indicates that the payment is on your behalf and to be credited to the account or invoice you indicated when you entered the payee.

Q - How long does it take for the company I am paying to receive the payment?
A -
Electronic payments normally take a maximum of 3 days. Paper drafts can take 5-8 days. Take this into consideration when paying bills to avoid late charges.

Q - What date should I enter as the payment date?
A - The payment date is the date that you want the payment sent to the payee. This is not the date that your payment is due. Please remember to allow 5-8 business days for payments made by check and 3 business days for those made electronically. The system will automatically enter the earliest date that it can be pay the bill.

Q - When will the payment amount be deducted from my checking account at the bank?
A - Unless post-dated, the payment amount is deducted from your checking account the day it is paid.

Q - Can I make my Queenstown Bank of Maryland loan payments using On-line Banking Bill Payment.
A - Yes, either of two ways. Using the funds transfer function, you can transfer money to the loan.

Q - My house payment and car payment are the same every month. Is there an easy way to handle these?
A -
Yes, the system provides for recurring payments. You tell it the amount, date and frequency and the system will initiate the payments for you.

Q - Do I need to set up recurring payments each month?
A -
No. Our system allows you to set your payments to recur based on your instructions. You can schedule payments of the same amount to the same payee to happen on daily, weekly or monthly schedules.

Q - I have full access to two different checking accounts under my Login ID. Can I make Bill Payments from different accounts?
A -
Yes, you can pay individual bills from different checking accounts that you have full access to under your Login ID. Let us know the second account that you would like to have listed under the bill payer and we will add that to it.

Q - What is the maximum payment amount allowed?
A - Limited to the funds available in your account.

Q - When will my account be charged for Bill Payment Services? If applicable.
A - Between the 1st and the 5th day of each month.

Q - What if I don’t sign up for Bill Payment initially, but later decide that I want it?
A - No problem, just complete our bill payer enrollment form.
